Hello,

Lets use this topic to gather tips and trickets to improve your scores.

On Math, always search for positve negative words like unshaded/shaded.

Practice, practice, and a lil more practice

In CR passages, try to find something in the passage that supports your answer.

In writing-improving paragraphs and sentences, try to find the most concise and grammatically correct answer.

Isnt there like a template for the essay?

I heard that if you follow a template you have more chances of scoring higher

I dont think using a template for the essay will guarantee a better score. The essay is scored based on how well u support ur examples.
I think the template goes sumthing like:

This might help organize ur essay, but wont guarantee a better score

For the essay, I think the keys are (I got an 11 & ran out of time):
-Crystal clear thesis…3 obvious examples
-Facts followed by analytical commentary, one after the other
-Transitions between paragraphs
-Some sort of conclusion

Unlike most people think, a 1 sentence conclusion is good enough. Sure 3 or 4 is better, but if you don’t have time…

DO NOT cut off your last body paragraph 1/2 way thru so you have 5 min for a conclusion.

For Algebra plug in your own numbers.

Since most people already have a good knowledge of everything going into the test, I think it’s just a matter of focus and concentration. Try to find ways to save a couple of minutes on each section and you might get an extra problem right.

Sit next to the smartest kid you know.

Um… They assign you seats…

Oh. I was kidding around, but someone did decide to sit near me. Fat kid copied my answers too.

At my school, they don’t assign seats. Hence why most close-smart friends try to huddle in the back.
