Google BOLD Internship 2019

Sucks that no one will be posting in the group again. thanks for all your help guys! Enjoy your summer, it’s gonna be amazing!

So is it over? With no rejection letters?

Not a very good way to do business.

I bet they’ll send a rejection letter soon.

I got a rejection when I applied to the Immersion program as a sophomore. It was clearly automated but I was happy to have a bookend to the experience. It’s a sucks they haven’t sent one for this.

Got my rejection today around 7pm EST. Glad I finally got the email, hahah. Gratz and good luck to everyone that made it!!! Hopefully we’ll meet another time in the future

Hi everyone! I haven’t gotten my rejection yet but obviously I know it’s coming. This may be a bit early, but I want to look toward thinking about applying to Google again for postgrad (I’m thinking where I’m interning this summer could be a benefit to re-applying) Do you guys think it would be out of pocket to contact my recruiter throughout this process and ask for advice about post-grad opportunities? She only contacted me to send me the supplement form, and I don’t want to overstep or anything. I’d also love to keep in touch with you guys who did accept the BOLD offers and get your insight on how your summers go.

(also obligatory “we’re all incredible people who will go on to do incredible things” reminder) ?

@dkshruteee Yeah, I still haven’t gotten mine yet either, but I’ve kinda just put it in the back of my mind now and looked forward. As for contacting your “recruiter”, I would say go ahead if you want, just know that they aren’t actually your recruiter. Turns out, the people who were sending out the supplementals were active channel specialists, in which case, their job was basically to filter out the applicant pool and only send supplementals to those who were qualified enough to be bar-minimum of Google’s standards (this is the first year that they have done this). Anyways, from what I’ve heard from others who have gotten interviews on here, their actual recruiter who helped them through the interview process was a different person than the one who sent them their supplemental and/or “hang tight” emails.

That makes sense. I looked at my person’s profile on LinkedIn and was confused by the difference in titles between ACS and recruiters. Thanks! @BladeHunter

I got my rejection last night. Good luck everyone!

Welp, looks like this crazy ride is finally over for now, I just got my rejection today. Guess my dreams of working for Google is gonna have to be put on hold for now. Good luck to any of you guys still waiting to hear back!

Stay strong a positive everone!

*everyone

Kill it this summer guys!!!
