Hey everyone, sorry for a second post, I have 2 quick questions:

  1. Are you still allowed to apply if you live near a ‘residential’ site? If so, do you commute or must you stay on site?
  2. Is Google CSSI looking for applicants with a lot of exposure to many different programming languages or minimal exposure, or experience in only some languages?

Does Google CSSI require an official transcript (as confirmation) after you get into the program?

  1. Yeah you can apply if you live near a residential site. If you do get selected for that one you will commute.
  2. They have mentioned they are mostly looking for students with minimal exposure overall, but anyone can apply. Looking at last years thread I noticed some people with decent exposure got denied though.

I submitted as well, but I didn’t write my gpa in the format of “3.5/4.0”, and only put 3.5… should I email them for the correction or?

if your school specifically DOES NOT calculate GPA, can you put N/A?

no, we just dont use GPA (we can technically calculate it ourselves if necessary)

Were we supposed to receive an email confirmation, or is it ok that we just see “submitted” on the application part?

hmm i got no email confirmation, then again i did submit 2 hrs late

@vc_scrubjay As long as the application says submitted, you should be good. I sent my application in as well, and I did not get a confirmation email but it says submitted.

I submitted mine around 1:30 am last night because I live on the east coast, so technically, I turned it in on time. But, now that I think about it, it might say that my application was submitted on 3/26/2019. We’ll see

I submitted mine a week early and got not confirmation email so I guess we dont need to worry here lol

Looking at last year’s thread, it looks like some people started getting emails about two and a half weeks after the deadline.

If you get accepted, is there an interview phase? If so, what kind of questions do they usually ask the applicant?

@Airbornehurdle I asked one of the CSSI Alumni’s from last year and they said no phone or technical interviews.

not sure if this is right, but I think somewhere on the website it says decisions are coming out in May (?) which is pretty late…I need to make plans before that :frowning:
