google goggles....are we really going to go in this direction?

<p>I think this is technology overload…</p>

<p>The woman wearing the goggles is attractive, but these goggles?</p>

<p>We are going to go for walks and wear the goggles?
Is this really necessary?</p>

<p>Is reality just going to go virtual?</p>

<p>I know reality is what is in a person’s head…but now reality is going to be what a person wears on his head?</p>

<p>I don’t know…this is looking over the top. </p>

<p>I say this by writing on an ipad to people I know virtually and don’t really exist. :)</p>

<p>This is a game changer if it actually works. Being able to see and have access that that much data will be amazing. And they look pretty stylish too!</p>

<p>I have a couple of friends that were really into gadgets and toys in the 80’s but now are saying enough already…</p>

<p>These technology changes are turning people into robots…</p>

<p>Soon…we are going to be told when to eat…sleep…go to the bathroom…where we left our car keys…</p>

<p>Where is the fun to be spontaneous and screw up…oh…these goggles will take this over too…</p>

<p>Have you ever seen the Star Trek: Next Generation episode “The Game”? Everyone gets addicted to a game that is played on a headset. I couldn’t help but think of that when I saw the articles about the Goggle goggles this week.</p>

<p>I can see some definite applications for the military, police, firefighters, and probably lots of other occupations.</p>

<p>So, my question is, do you push the buttons for more information with your fingers or how do you change screens. Could be an interesting party video to give these to some, less than sober people.:D. </p>

<p>There are technical applications of the glasses (car or aircraft mechanics having access to manuals while working on repairs, doctors/nurses having real time access to patient records, and the like). </p>

<p>In practice, unless augmented reality is done VERY well, the brain simply does not have enough resources handy to deal with mundane tasks (i.e. walking) and watching Youtube at the same time.</p>
