I just noticed that they’ve spelled out Google as Richard Scarry’s Busytown - and Lowly Worm is the "L’ in Google if you click through. It’s the 92nd anniversary of Scarry’s birth (he died in 1994, when my youngest was 4 and she had a tall stack of his books next to her bed.)

My kids loved his books before they could read on their own. I got tired of them, and didn’t always like them much - especially “Naughty Bunny,” when Mama Bunny apparently whacked the little bunny with a hairbrush when he colored on the wall. But there was so much detail in the illustrations to talk about on every page. And Lowly Worm was always a favorite.

Now I want Google to honor Steven Kellogg on his birthday!

It is fun to see what Google will showcase everyday (and my kids loved the Richard Scarry books too. I can’t even count how many times I read Busytown. LOL ), but I was very irked that on Memorial Day, Google choose not to honor our armed forces. Sad.

I had the same problem, ellenemope. I did find this. Not sure if either of the graphics are exactly what it looked like yesterday. There is a large graphic which is maybe the google letters? Scroll down to see the “worm” - is one of these what showed yesterday?

Bump to alert everyone to today’s Google Doodle - especially Trekkies! Cool indeed. Be sure to click on anything that outlines when you hover the mouse, especially on planet, and have sound on. I won’t give anything else away.

Bump again to alert everyone to the very charming Earth Day doodle - be sure to start it and let it run for a few minutes; also check for anywhere possible to click - some surprises! I won’t give spoilers but did note that you can make the sun stop in the sky which seems quite biblical to me.
