Gores splitting up?

Boy, I hope this isn’t true. What’s the world coming to when even Al Gore can’t help but stray?

If anything, I was hoping he had met a new soul mate who felt the same way he did about the environment.

I appreciate that the Gores are handling their separation as they have their public and personal lives in a very classy way.

Would we all be so restrained.

*An affair may have caused the separation between former Vice President Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, after 40-years.

According to a StarMagazine.com report, Al Gore began a two-year affair with Laurie David, ex-wife of Hollywood writer and actor, Larry David, shortly after completion of the Oscar-winning documentary “An Inconvenient Truth” in 2006.

Laurie and Larry David divorced in 2007.*

It actually makes perfect sense. Both Al and Laurie are very simpatico.

There is no classy way “if” there was an affair.

Ironic, I just noticed the title of the last Al Gore’s documentary–“An Inconvenient Truth.”

right…having an affair which causes the marriage to end, is not classy. If the rumor is true, then Tipper is wisely saying little to avoid embarrassment. Al’s silence wouldn’t be for “classy reasons,” it would be for “cover up” reasons.

Stunning?
…

On the other hand, Star magazine is not exactly known for always telling the truth. I’m just sayin’. Famous men do have affairs, but also Star makes up stories, so we can’t be sure what the truth is.

I like a headline I saw: “Al Gore’s affair with Mother Earth affected his marriage.”

Or perhaps Tipper would prefer to not comment publicly out of respect for her children’s feelings. If my DH did that to me, I would not keep quiet for his sake,or to avoid personal embarrassment, but I would have no desire to cause hurt to my kids by speaking ill of their father to the press.

I guess this part of my comment went whizzing past

Would we all be so restrained.

I’m kind of surprised that there hasn’t been more made of the initial reports of an affair between Gore and Laurie David if it in fact had any truth to it.

I’m guessing that most people don’t believe it’s true…think of how long it took the MSM to report the whole sordid John Edwards thing.

Al? A horny old creep? KING5 reports says so and quotes the National Enquirer

[Gore implicated in sex assault on Portland masseuse | KING5.com | Seattle News, Breaking News, Weather](http://www.king5.com/home/Gore-implicated-in-sex-assault-on-Portland-masseuse-97033129.html)

Yikes.

Why would she wait three years to report it?

Maybe she didn’t think that anyone would believe her (which would probably be true), but that people would believe her now. Or maybe someone (Nat’l Enquirer or their ilk) will now pay her $$$$ for her exclusive story.

Whatever it is–seems very sordid…

Getting a massage from a member of the opposite sex that isn’t your spouse carries some risk.

Even if it’s true, I’d be surprised if a single incident of that kind would be a marriage-breaker. Either there was a lot more than that, or it was something else entirely.

That sort of thing would be a symptom.

I met Gore in 1999 - he was quite a composed person. I think that he changed a lot after the election (in many negative ways).

She didn’t wait three years. She reported it in December 2006 - to the Portland Police - and at some point, to the Secret Service and FBI.

But in 2006 she declined to talk to detectives about it.
