<p>Just in case anyone wants a counterpoint to the Gosselin family and their drama - the McCaugheys - who are the oldest living set of septuplets - turned 13 recently. TLC is airing an hour long special this week updating viewers on their progress. About as unlike the Gosselins as you can get. Very down-to-earth family - the father works a regular job while the mom is home with the kids. They have no interest in being celebrities - this one hour update for TLC with Ann Curry is about as much as they will do. </p>
<p>I really am surprised she has not been able to parlay her octuplets into at least periodic specials. It’s really hard to tell what this woman is thinking!</p>
<p>But she does have this option:</p>
<p>(HMG Celebrity News) – It appears that the only thing that may keep ‘OctoMom’ Nadya Suleman and her 14 young children from getting evicted from her home and perhaps going to live in shoe is the porn industry. Nadya has resisted dealing with the devil in the past but the 35-year old unmarried, unemployed, multiplex-mommy must come up with a $450,000 balloon payment originally due Oct. 9, or likely lose her 4-bedroom La Habra, California home. Suleman’s father purchased the four-bedroom home in early 2009 for $565,000, including a $130,000 down payment. Amer Haddadin, who owns the note to her house, said he’ll evict Suleman and her children from their suburban home this Friday, New Year’s Eve if she and her lawyer Jeff Czech don’t pay the remaining balance on the house by Friday.</p>
<p>Although Suleman has shot down past offers from XXX video distributor Vivid Entertainment to work behind and in front of the camera in exchange for a cleared mortgage, Vivid head honcho Steve Hirsch is still trying to make a deal and wants to buy the $450,000 note.</p>
<p>As to why he wants to buy the note, he told TMZ that it would be a “great opportunity to begin a relationship with Octomom.”</p>
<p>Having had four kids in three years was our greatest blessing. Our kids grew up close and are friends. Looking back on the early days I guess it was alot of work with many nights of little sleep but we were young back then and it was easy. My husband and I could not do it now but what I wouldn’t give to just have one day to go back in time and be with my little ones all over again. </p>
<p>I still feel for Kate although I personally think her choices to put her family in public view were not in their best interest. She and Jon (I watched the show a few times) seemed to have a angry relationship and divorce seemed to be in their future early on. Jon however, will need to do alot of explaining to his kids down the road, regarding his public treatment of their mother, providing they are still have a relationship with Kate. I think those kids have been through enough with having their personal life filmed against their will. These kids should have been protected from this. I wonder if this was just a snowball gone out of control because according to the the papers Kate is making plenty of money with this show to raise the kids on her own and pay Jon his allimony. This family could easily stop this now, and Kate could make enough on her own to care for the kids. Unfortunately people still watch the show so Kate will continue this as long as she is getting paid.</p>
<p>I think it helps that the McCaughey’s perhaps weren’t so in need of money at the outset-- it sure helps to resist the temptation to jump on the media gravy train in the first place:</p>
<p>Yep… huge difference between the McCaugheys and Gosselins. I remember when the McCaugheys were gifted quite nicely, and actually the dad did hit the road on the speaking circuit for a while before settling back down with a job close to home. But they got a lot of stuff.</p>

<p>How we forget - Jon and Kate got a beautiful addition built onto their house for FREE!! This is the house they lived in when the kids were born. They had volunteers. They had free diapers. They got the college scholarship. They had it ALL.
None of it was good enough for Kate. She got greedy.</p>
<p>The Gosselins and the McCaughey’s are polar opposites.</p>
<p>^ Agree. I’ve heard her say recently that they’re benefitting from taking “trips of a lifetime”…I have to wonder how many such trips one can take before they’re no longer considered “trips of a lifetime” and just fall into the category of regular vacations!</p>
<p>^ I think these kids will probably have issues with the fact that their every childhood move was filmed and the circumstances of the divorce was so public (dad cheating on mom). However, Kate has not been depicted as the most protective of moms. There are things that she just should not have allowed. I feel for her because he is a jerk but Kate has spun out of control with making money…more than these kids need to be in a happy and stable environment. I guess you just have to wonder why they have made the choices they have made…the kids are the ones who are innocent and they have no choice.</p>
