Got 800s on two Barron's tests, but performance dropping?

At first, I got 2 fairly easy 800s on the Barron diag test and first model test and became slightly cocky (woops). Then, I took the second model tests which I got an 780 on then I took one from Dr. Chung’s and I got a 770 on that. I read somewhere on this forum that Princeton Review was accurate in its test and I took one of those and got a 790.

In terms of test difficulty, I’d say PR had the hardest to answer questions, then Dr. Chung, then Barron. Am I set for an 800? I really don’t want to get a 780/790 because my college apps already suck. I kinda need this…

Additionally, I used to always be fast at math… like really fast. But now I finish with only about 2-5 minutes left and on the Barron’s and Chung’s, I practically ran out of time.

What do you guys suggest for realistic, yet not overly easy tests to take? I’ve heard that the Sparknotes, CB (can’t find those online?), McGraw are good but I feel like they’re too easy?

You are making mountians out of molehills and I am not even sure this is a serious post. SAT has 8 free practice tets. Why aren’t you doing those? And are you signed up for the August test date? If you are scoring that high, what are you waiting for? You do realize that there is not going to be a boost to your app if you get a 780 versus an 800. As far as a college is concerned, there isn’t much of a difference. I suspect you are bored and having a bit of fun at the expense of CC members.

Even with a real test, you may see a 10-20 points variation test-to-test easily. For practice tests from different publishers, the range is even larger. If you are using the Barron’s Math 2 prep book, the practice tests are getting more and more difficult sequentially.

is this for math sat or math 2 subject test? I can see the concern if it’s math sat subject test, bu as lindagaf wrote, it’s really misplaced.

Yeah, it’s subject test, forgot to write that

I did notice that too, the tests get harder. The diagnostic was insanely easy and the first test was a bit of a jump…

Haha, I’m actually not. This is for the subject test, so I really want that 800. I’m not doing the regular SAT; I’m doing the ACT in September

where do you get practice math 2 tests?

Prep books
