And on top of that I got a B- in precalculus. I have never so learned so much for a B. I am so ****ed. I had an 88 prior to the final and the final brought my grade down to a 84. And there’s a girl i know that had a low 80 prior to the final and then ended up getting a B. Now my overall gpa is a 3.06. Which sucks!!! I cannot get an A to save my life, no matter how hard i study, and believe i have good study habits. Do i have any chance of getting into medical school? I am a sophomore.

You have just finished 1.5 years of college with a 3.06. IF you manage to get 4.0’s for the next 1.5 years (medical schools will only consider your grades from the first three years, if you plan on going to medical school after your senior year in college), then you should be fine. If you want to go to an M.D. school you need at least a 3.5. If don’t mind going to a D.O. school you need a 3.25 roughly.

As far as working hard, and still not managing to do well, its probably has something to do with your study habits. Does your school have a learning center? If they do, go talk to a learning specialist on how to make your study time more efficient. Also talk to your professors about how to be more efficient for studying for their classes.

BTW the reason that I said that medical schools will only consider your grades from the first three years, is because a lot of medical schools start giving out acceptances before the first semester of senior year is over. So if you do get an acceptance before the first semester of your senior year is up, then medical schools won’t really care about your grades from first semester of senior year (as long as you don’t start failing classes).

nope no chance of med school you were silly to think you ever had any chance at all you should probably drop out now and be a street performer because thats the only thing you’re qualified to do and your parents never loved you either.

Rumor has is it that the class average before the final was around a 52. I had an 88. Here is how the grade was calculated. We had 20 question quizzes throughout the semester. My quiz average was a 89.6. These quizzes were 40% of the final grade. Then you had class participation where you used iclickers to answer questions during lecture. I got a 9.4 out of 10 for this. Then your lab counted another 25 percent of your final grade, and I received a 85.7 in lab. Then the final counted another 25 percent of the final grade. And I got a 66.7 on the final. So there ya go. The final killed me. Everyone knew that the final would be hard, I studied me ass off, but in the end couldn’t pull it off. I just hope the final wasn’t curved, cause that’s embarrassing to get a 66.7 on the final with a curve. I am definitely going to talk with my professor on monday and see what i got wrong on the final.
