Hey guys,

I had taken the December paper as a practice and got 2040. I thought I had some time to prep for the May test.

In prep tests at home I was around the 2200-2220 . Actual test I got a 2140.

Obviously I’m pretty disappointed, but I can’t change my scores, and I can’t take it again.

So my main question is, can a score like this get me into the good universities like UPenn, if I make up for this score with better IB scores?

you can take it again in october bro.

I could, but I’ve taken it twice already, and now I got my extended essay and IB stuff. It’s going to be too hectic. And some universities only consider the 2 times in 1 year.

other factors are also important when it comes to academics, such as recommendation letters, GPA, rigor of 2nd school record, essays or class rank. Dont be too upset by your sat score.

2140 is not bad. Indeed, I was told by a tutor that getting 80 points less than practice in a real test is what they expect. My D got 250 point below practice at her first attempt. If you don’t want (or can’t) to retake SAT, why don’t you give ACT a try in Fall?
