Quite honestly applying to USC was something that I had thought of last minute. But like my other universities, I like to show keenest--visiting, interview etc. I didn't visit USC in the summer because all my other schools were on the East coast. Anyway, I had a connection and even though the interview deadline was over, I got an interview for tomorrow. I am rather worried they may ask why didn't I schedule an interview sooner. I don't think it is good to say because I'm not interested...but now having submitted the application and have written the essays, I do see USC as one of my top choices. It's not as if I haven't heard of USC anymore, it is a magnet for my high school, they accept around 15 students a year out of my class of 150 students..ideas? Oh and I'm overseas :)

Don't wait for them to ask - open with, "I am so glad I was able to schedule an interview! I was worried that, being overseas, the interviews would be over when I was able to get here!"

Don't worry too much about showing "interest." USC does not track contacts or visits or consider them in admissions decisions. Interviews are informative, not evaluative.
