Got Accepted as Transfer Student for Spring 2015!!

Just got my acceptance letter in the applyourself student portal. I immediately applied for housing since transfers get the short end of the stick when it comes to housing on-campus. I then paid the 400 dollar enrollment fee… So am I officially a Terp right? So now what do I do? Should I go to the campus to talk with the administration or should I do something else? Any info would be wonderful…Like should I apply for a Limited Enrollment Program now or wait to do so? Thanks…

By the way, I got a 3.58 GPA and I am in Phi Theta Kappa and Honors, and Deans List 5 times…

Were you able to create your umd online account? Also, when is the orientation for students admitted to Spring semester?

Yes and it depends on your major there are different orientations for each

You have to sign up for orientation, but I suggest doing that ASAP. Figure out if you have to do any placement tests prior to your orientation date, get your medical together, get your housing together, and wait. As for LEP I thought you had to apply to those while you were filling out your application. You could always call or email them to figure it out.

Well I registered for the Jan 15th orientation session today. I am concerned about housing as I have heard it is very difficult for a transfer to get housing on campus. This is a pain for me because I live about 3 hours away now and would have to find something on the fly through craigslist (and its a pretty bad area and I’m not fond of non-student roommates either :() As to the LEP, I assumed that since the LEP application is still on my UMD profile page it is still open to applying. (Btw, I am thinking of Govt and Politics as my major-but thinking about premed) I just need to take the math pre-assessment before I can register for classes. I was hoping to get into an honors program and maybe a “living-learning” program like Gemstone, Honors, or Beyond the Classroom. I tried to apply to BTC but the app is hosted on some janky survey site (surveymonkey.com??? lol) Anyway, just wanted to find someone who has had experience navigating this process who can help me out a bit. Thanks.

Can I get my mom to give me the immunizations and records and just fax em in? She’s an NP so it would be cheap and more convenient. Anyone done this kind of route of using family in medical field to get immunizations? Or is there an on-site immunization treatment on campus that does it?
