Got accepted to one school... Now what?

Hey all,

I got accepted to UVM, my safety school. However, I’m not the most academic individual, and I’m nervous about my other schools to which I applied. My other four schools are: SUNY Binghamton, SUNY Geneseo, Cornell University, and George Washington University.

How will I fare?

Some info:

SAT: 1800 (1810 superscore)
SAT II : Spanish - 700 | Math II - 670

GPA (unweighted): 3.4

GPA (weighted): 4.0

Extracurriculars:
2 years of Red Cross Club (Club Officer 1 year)
4 years on a FIRST Robotics Team
Many, many hours of community service

My essays and supplemental material I believe are pretty good. I like to consider myself a good writer.

I go to Ithaca High School, and it’s pretty competitive. Nearly everyone applied regular to Cornell. Cornell accepts a lot of IHS kids, but still.

My number one school is obviously Cornell, but I value the SUNY schools a lot as well. Thanks for any information or predictions! Peace and much love to ya.

Focus on the positive – you’re into a great school, no matter what happens!!

I don’t think you have a shot at Cornell, 1800 is a bit too low.

Cornell and GWU are going to be very high reaches for you because of your GPA, SAT, and extracurriculars. You have decent chances at the SUNYs, though.

That’s what I thought… I’m terrible at standardized testing and, at this point, I cannot fix my scores. Thanks for the assessments folks.

“Now what?” What did you expect? You got into some less selective ones and now you need to wait to hear others – some of which may decline you. Has an unexpected turn of events occurred? It is February, right? To me,everything looks right on schedule…

If you’re happy with and can afford UVM then anything else is gravy.
