<p>My SAT 1 score is only 540, its not 600. Does this mean I will have to change my major? I really intend to take engineering in college. In this case, what should i do?</p>
<p>Well, if you apply some of that pre-engineering acumen into the scenario, you’ll surmise that they feel your 540 is a precursor to a difficult run at Engineering. Therefore, they’ve set a minimum of 600 and if you can’t reach that, they will not allow you into Engineering. What’s difficult to understand? I sympathize with you but you should understand that your 540 is about the 55th percentile of all students – not potential Engineering majors.</p>
<p>Or maybe your inability to reason this out is exactly the problem…</p>
<p>Your solution: retake the SAT and get above 600 or else forget Engineering. If you barely squeak over 600, realize a tough road liesahead. You might want to re think engineering regardless. Best of luck to you</p>
