got another problem and don't know what to do

Delloitte sent me an e-mail thanking me for interviewing with them, and coming to my school’s cpa fair and talking to them there. I didn’t go to the fair, and they didn’t extend me an interview when i applied. what should i do?

Since they did not extend you an interview when you applied, yet thanked you, I would use their mistake to your advantage. Assuming you have the stats that are within their requirements (in other words, if you have a 2.3, they probably are not interested no matter what), I would write them back and tell them that, while you appreciate their thanks, you did not get an interview and would very much like one. If you can, make it clever but not pompous or flipant.

They may be embarrassed and give you one. Then it is up to you to get an offer.

You have nothing to lose as long as you are professional about it.

I wouldn’t mention that you did not go to the fair. Why didn’t you?

I only heard about it on the day of the fair. I blame that partly on the fact that i’m new to the school

They’re not going to give him a sympathy interview. They’ve interviewed first round and probably second round by this point. They’ll simply apologize for the error.

No, pls is right. Assuming he is in NY (as indicated by his name) and assuming he is applying to an office as large as NYC offices than they’d just send him a personal email apologizing.

Missing “Accounting Night”/“CPA Fair” is a killer. You make so many contacts who you can keep in contact with that can help you through the process and act as an advocate for you, if you get on their good side.
