instate URM I suppose. no other way, besides connections or something of that sort. you are different somehow. but you are probably not OOS / int’l.

^UCSD gives a lot of point for lower socio-economic applicants. Some students SAT/GPA don’t have to be high to be accepted.

I thought UCs don’t look at URM status?

Not race but socio-economic level.

apparently, they totally hate me (US citizen whose parents still pay income taxes in Calif. - 30,000 a year).

Don’t take it personally. The point system gives a lot of point to socio-economic. Let’s say a student from a single mother family which most likely that person comes from a family makes less than $60K, most likely this person is first generation(which explains the low income). So just right off the bat, this person gets 900 points to the system. That 900 point is equivalent of 900 points for the total SAT and .9 off the GPA.

Just got in!! Thurgood Marshall - poli sci!! But i see no ones else here is in Marshall, whats the deal with that!

Accepted to Muir- Bioengineering (Biotechnology)

Did everyone get an email about the Alumni Association’s Scholarship for Regents Scholars? I’m just wondering whether or not I DID get Regents because it didn’t say so on the acceptance page online. What’s even funnier is that I withdrew my application back in December.
