Well, I’m Mien, but I think for the most part, colleges will look at that as Asian, which is definitely not URM. Poor? Yes. LOL. I have tons of extracurriculars and office position as well. Do you know whether or not CAL goes by a point system? Or how heavily weighted their admissions decisions are on GPA and SAT scores???

Cal does not go by point system but it does help if you come from a poor background. For private schools, Mien should be unusual enough to be considered as URM but Cal does not care.
OT, is Mien an ethnic minority from Cambodia?

Ethnic minority in Laos.

Bioengineering: Biotechnology at ERC!! (Eleanor Roosevelt), but I really really want to switch to Warren. I heard Warren is better for engineering than ERC. ERC is better for humanities? Congrats to everyone else!

I got into UCSD’s Earl Warren campus but, I’m debating over going to SD or Davis.
For anyone who goes to UCSD, how much walking do you have to do at UCSD?
I’ve heard it’s isolated, which I’m OK with, but I need to know whether or not all parts of the campus are accessible by walking.
I mean, how far is Earl Warren from Muir?
And also, what is there to do around the campus?

asajjad2, same decision to make here. but i got into sixth, and im not an art major…is that weird? also, i hear the people there are not so attractive, and there is virtually no social life.

yay I got in :)

Hey everyone.

I just wanted to let you all know, im a first year UCSD student

I live in and im in Revelle college, so I know all about the GEs. Some people dont like how we have a lot more GE then other colleges, but we also get to take a lot of different and interesting classes. Also, Revelle is #1 in sending students to med school, so if youre pre-med its great bc of its ‘well rounded, prestigious image’

Im also a BioE:BioE major, and a Japanese Studies minor(which is easier to do because of the area of focus requierment in revelles ges), so if anyone has questions about their BioE program i can help answer them

and as for walking distance, i walk everywhere on campus…my farthest class is a little over a mile, so its only like a 12 min walk, and it keeps you feelin good

and revelle is also situated right next to muir, both which are close to the beach
