Got rejected by CSU San Marcos. Please help?

I am a community college student who has applied to three California colleges for the Fall semester, which include SDSU, CSU San Marcos and UC San Diego. I am a California resident. I currently have a 3.06 GPA and had hopes of being accepted to at least CSU San Marcos. Unfortunately I got a rejection email message from the college today informing me that I was not accepted. I know that the acceptance rate for CSU San Marcos is higher compared to both UC and SDSU… with my GPA being what it is I have very little confidence I will actually be accepted to either UC or SDSU. I am posting this discussion in the hopes that perhaps someone can give me advice on what I do from here? Should I attend a college that accepts transfer students with a minimum 2.0 GPA? What is the best path for me to take? I’ve investigated Ashford University, but the yearly cost of attendance is high.

I think your assessment is fair - SDSU and UCSD are highly unlikely with a 3.06 GPA.
It looks like not applying to a Safety school is going to cost you some time. I think Channel Islands and San Bernardino accept Spring transfers. That’s probably your best course.

Your community college should have a transfer office-you might try talking to them for suggestions.

Thank you both for your advice. It’s much appreciated.
