I just got rejected from my safety school Now what do I do…
Not a lot of information here. Stats? College List?
This admissions process is so unpredictable. I’m sorry this happened, but there is plenty you can do.
There is still time to apply to additional schools. Most deadlines for RD are January 1 or even later. I would take a careful look at your application, essays, and other admissions materials to see if there is anything that is a red flag to AOs. Also, I would take a close look at stats for accepted students at schools you are interested in and make sure you are correctly identifying schools as “safeties.” I would also use the weakest point of your application to characterize safeties, not the strongest.
I would also check in with your college counselor to see what they think. Good luck!
Obviously, it was not actually a safety…
You may want to apply to a college with automatic admission for your stats and which is affordable.
Since this is the California Colleges section, perhaps consider a non impacted CSU where your major is not impacted, if you meet baseline CSU eligibility, and can afford it. Or consider starting at a community college.
Sorry to state the obvious, but it wasn’t a safety. So, the first question is: can you figure out why you weren’t offered a place there? And the next is: does that reason apply to the other places you applied? If so, then you go back to the drawing board and look for other places to apply. If you want suggestions, post some info (stats, special stuff about you, financial constraints) & people here will try & help you find some.
One post and we know nothing about you, your interests, strengths, how seriously you took this school, whether you even matched, and what you want now.
So the only answer is: keep moving.
What school? Which major? Stats? College budget? Where else did you apply?
If you answer all the questions, experienced posters can help you find another safety school.
What California state school has decisions in December? Applications were just due November 30.
@svlab112: Cal State San Marcos and Dominguez Hills have already released some decisions for local applicants.
CSUDH is a non-impacted campus with no impacted majors (and has a local area of “State of California”), so if the OP was rejected by CSUDH, then s/he is ineligible for frosh admission at any CSU.
Although many CSUs have closed applications for fall 2020, some non-impacted and less impacted campuses still have open applications: https://www2.calstate.edu/apply/Pages/application-dates-deadlines.aspx
Darn people here were helpful… just messing with the forum, sorry to waste your time. Btw it was Stanford. Now I have to apply to my next safety, Harvard lol
Aww my safety school is Harvard but my reach is Stanford
