Got suspension

How will this affect my college apps and i wrote that i was in national honor society on ny common apps and i sent it because im probably gonna get kicked out now

Ask your guidance counselor how/what will be reported exactly and report back to us. I was also suspended, and have already gotten 2 acceptances.

Bump

Agree that the first step is to talk to your guidance counselor.

Depends on the length, severity or cause of the suspension. There will most likely be a section for you to explain the reasoning. Also, most schools have a process for expunging suspensions (removing them off your transcript) so speak with guidance about that.

Goodluck and don’t keep yourself up at night thinking about the suspension. Whatever happens happens.

There’s a lot of space (500 words?)to explain it. Your counselor will likely also take your side saying that it was minor and you’ve matured, etc.

The counselor also has the option of choosing the third option (not yes or no) and omitting the information. There are 3 options on the school report. I think it says “school does not report.”

Your being kicked out of NHS is irrelevant. If you meet the overall academic standards of your target schools, you have to remember that THEY are inclined to find a way to admit you, space permitting.

To you, they’re a possible 4 years of fun, adventure, learning and discovery.

To them, you’re 4 years of tuition and fees. They WANT to admit you. Don’t forget that.
