<p>She and her friends didn’t get to see all of the Gothics during the tours of West, and I was wondering if someone could tell me which of the Gothics are “nicest”, or most desirable. Any insight would be most appreciated! Thanks!</p>
<p>are they all females? some rooms in Lyon (an all-women dorm) are pretty big. there are quite a few doubles left in Lyon as of this evening. there are some really small doubles, though, so check the square feet before selecting.
there are also decent-sized rooms in Mennen, I understand (haven’t been inside any rooms) but there’s hardly anything available there anymore, it looks like.
one perk of Lyon and Mennen is that they’re connected and there’s laundry facilities in the basement of Lyon. for some of the other gothics, you have to walk outside with your laundry.</p>
<p>Thanks faustarp…they are females, and they ended up in Founders in the gothics. They had a 5:00 time slot, and they were looking for 3 singles and a double but they ended up with one single and 2 doubles. Virtually nothing left (they had to find rooms on the same floor for blocking reasons) by that time. </p>
<p>I hope the dorms there are nice. I kind of think the gothics look nice, at least from the outside. I know they will have to go outside with their laundry, but things could definitely be worse, and both they and I are happy they are on West.</p>

<p>The inside parts of Founders that I’ve seen aren’t particularly beautiful, but you’re not going to spend that much time in the hallways obviously. The TV in the TV room is pretty reliable (the cable works) and it seems to be available much of the time. The kitchen is in the same room as the TV, so it’s a pretty spacious, which a big plus if you’re using the stove. I have only been in one of the bathrooms, but it seemed pretty reasonable, a lot like the bathrooms from the freshman dorms.
All of these observations are at least a couple of months old, so maybe things have gone downhill with the TV function, for example, but I imagine TV/kitchen setup and bathrooms are basically unchanged.</p>
<p>Thanks faustarp! Have you ever been inside any of the dorm rooms? I’m just trying to get an idea of room size, if anyone knows. Her room seems to be one of the smaller singles on the floor plan, but since she doesn’t know the rooms sizes there in general it’s hard to compare. :)</p>
<p>I haven’t been in any of the rooms there, unfortunately. I have seen the square footage on the floor plans in the past, and all I can say is that I don’t <em>remember</em> Founders having rooms that are particularly large or small relative to other places…</p>
