Hey CC, made an account just to ask this. I’m currently a community college student and I currently have a 3.04 but if I finish my current summer class with an A(which I will), it’ll bring my GPA up to a 3.08. I was looking to transfer to UCR and since I am a computer science major, their TAG program requires a 3.1 GPA at the time of application. Do you think the 3.08 will qualify as a 3.1?
No, a 3.1 is a 3.1. They do not round.
Do you have any D/F grades you can replace over the summer?
No just some C’s that screwed up my gpa talking of, do you think it’s better to take a D/F instead of a C and retake the class and help my gpa or just keep the C and ruin my gpa?
Having a lot of D/F grades on your transcript almost definitely looks worse than a C. I think most would agree that your best option is to withdraw if you can.
Is it possible for you to take another course this summer, and get an A? That should bring you into the 3.1 range, correct? Take an easier online course, if possible.
Agree with everyone. You need a 3.1 and since your GPA is a bit on the low side that TAG will really really help. Try and find a way to get it to 3.1 by end of summer. Other option is Merced offers a spring TAG, so you could TAG there and have a bit more time.
