On my hs transcript there is are three courses from before 9th grade. Two were taken during 8th grade and are not counted for my gpa. However, there’s another course that I took the summer before 9th grade that has a gpa for the course but is not included in my gpa calculation. Will colleges include that course when they calculate gpa?
They may. They may not.
How, or if, a college recalculates GPA varies by college. And few tell you what they do. But generally, summer courses count toward the grade level you start in August/September, not the grade level you finished May/June

Ok, thank you for the help.
I suspect colleges will count it however it’s counted on your transcript (i.e., credit earned but not factored in GPA). Our HS works the same way – you can take summer courses for HS credit the summer before 9th grade, but it counts as credit only on the transcript, not toward the GPA. Some colleges do have specific formulas they use to recalculate GPA, and maybe some of those will use the grades for the course you’re asking about, but most will take whatever’s on the transcript, I think.
