GPA inflation

How is it like at NYU? I will need a solid GPA to get into law school. I’m in LSP, I have about 20-28 credits from AP, and I plan to study abroad. Assuming I will be a pretty good student who understands the concepts in my major, do I have a shot at a high GPA? I ask because some colleges deflate their GPAs, such as some UCs. Not sure if UCSB does it, thats my other choice besides NYU.

getting a good GPA after you get into a college is all about effort and hard work. Anyone can get a good grade and keep a great GPA if they work hard. Usually the difference between someone with a 3.0 and a 3.5 isn’t how smart they are but how hard they work. Typical case is a very very smart student who become lazy and does not do well in college. Or the student who procrastinates 1 day too many and hands in half assed papers.

i’m interested too! and specifically, how hard is it to gain at least B- in every course? I’m Economics major.

thanks in advance

It really depends on two things:

1) Independent work ethic

2) Teacher
