GPA problem :(((

Okay, so I was accepted into tech. However, I was looking over my self-reported transcript, and everything is accurately portrayed except that for english one semester, I gave myself an A instead of a B… It only makes a slight change to my gpa, but should I report it?? Would I get in trouble for this? I didnt realize it… and it was only one grade for one semester…

Yes, you should report it immediately. If you wait to let them find it (they’ll ask for a final transcript), you risk having your offer pulled.

It’s better for you to tell them about it than for them to find it.

but if I tell them, can’t they just take back the offer?? :frowning: I’m really scared…

Yes, they can.

They’re going to discover it either way - they check final transcripts. If you tell them now, they might pull your offer but if you wait there’s a greater chance they’ll pull it. Besides, if they pull it now you can accept another offer / apply to other schools. If they pull it in June, you’re off to community college.

Although they could rescind your offer, it is highly unlikely that a one semester English grade change from and A to a B would significantly change their view of your academic performance. You were already admitted early which means they thought you would have no problem gaining admission if they would have waited to compare you to the spring applicants.

Just report the error, and you’ll almost certainly be fine.

I should also point out that it’s a potential Honor Code violation if you know there’s a problem and you don’t inform them.

While a small change in your transcript really isn’t a big deal, an Honor Code violation is.

turns out that I actually didn’t get a b. :)
