Hey, CC
my gpa is 4.26 and idk what the scale is. my counselor said ‘12’ but on my preview on the CA, it says 4.26/12, which sounds wrong.
My school does A+, A, A-, so thats why my counselor said 12, but isnt it 5? like 4.26/5?

Whichever seems most likely or reasonable to you is what you should put on the application. When you send it in, your counselor will also have sent in your official transcript and a school report detailing exactly what GPA scale your school uses and how it is calculated. That is what admissions officers will look at, rather than the self-reported (and often inaccurate, if unintentional) one that you list.
@whitespace if the app is due on January 1st and my school comes back from break on the 4th, can my counselor send my transcript then? Im worried about that too.
That depends on the school. Honestly, a lot of them may expect you to have planned ahead and already had it sent. But, you may get lucky, and schools may have a little leeway in when they require supplemental parts of the application to be sent. The only ways to know would be to look at websites or email the admissions office.
thanks! I completely blanked on the transcripts. For my UC, they want LoR and transcripts after you submit your app so i was chilling but CA is so different hahah
