I am currently attending a junior college right now and I am thinking about transfering to either uc santa barbra or uc san diego. I just wanted to know what is the required gpa to get into these two schools. Right now I have a 3.2 gpa but my goal is to get it up to a 3.6 by the end of the semester and to at least a 3.9 by the end of the year. I am also 19 years old going into my second year of college.
Depending on your major and if you’ve met certain requirements, you can TAG to UCSB, which is guaranteed admission. If you have a 3.6 after the Fall semester, you should be eligible.
Admissions only considers your GPA as it stands at the end of the Fall semester. I don’t think that raising it to a 3.9 from a 3.2 in a two semesters is mathematically possible, unless you P/NP’d a bunch of classes.
so as long as i have a 3.6 by the end of fall semester i should be eligible and is it still possible to get it up from a 3.2 to a 3.6
I don’t know. I know it’s possible to raise your GPA enough for TAG (at least 3.2 to 3.4, possibly more). Do the math yourself. There are other requirements that you must meet as well, and again, it depends on your major. Check the requirements here to see if you are eligible for TAG:

@luke33 I’m not sure how you can get it up that much in one semester. Assuming you took 30 units first year, another 30 units for a full second year of straight As only gives you a 3.6.
A fall semester of straight As, 17 units gives you 3.49 (assuming a full first year).
