GPA transfer to Cornell?

Can anyone confirm: Does your GPA transfer to Cornell?

Also, what is the minimum grade you need for each class to transfer? I thought it was a C-.

no it doesnt.

It can vary based on the course. At least for the linear algebra course I’m taking this summer, I first had to have the math department review its syllabus and say that it was a suitable replacement. On the transfer credit form they get to pick what the minimum grade should be for me to get credit (it’s a C by default). Then my advisor has to look over the same stuff and agree that it’s suitable and sign off as to what curriculum area it will count towards. Then, finally, the engineering advising office makes the final decision.

So, it’s generally a C, but they’ll review each course individually and decide.

can you clarify as to what gpa transfers over means?

does it means it doesnt affect the gpa but still shows up on the transcript?

It means your transfer GPA does not add up with your Cornell GPA, so you start fresh and build your GPA at Cornell…
