<p>Does Duke have any sort of grace period at all if counselors submit transcripts/counselor recs or teachers submit teacher recs after the deadline, or does that grace period only apply to actually receiving and processing the information (as in the actual sending of the materials must still be before the deadline)? I’m starting to get nervous that my teachers/counselor won’t make it in time, and even if I remind them periodically, it’s ultimately not within my control.</p>
<p>I recommend you call/e-mail Undergraduate Admissions. FYI, I have always understood that some sort of reasonably, undefined “grace period” exists; however, all the web-based information I’ve reviewed indicates a 1 November deadline (for ED), with no mention of a “grace period.” </p>
<p>the admissions officers will expect YOUR materials to be submitted on time, but at least for my school which runs on a weird trimester system and which has a good track record with top universities, colleges do give plenty of slack for school materials (i.e. first quarter grades + teacher recs).</p>
