<p>Any suggestions for a graduation present for an incoming Haverford student? I was thinking of a gift certificate to some place students frequent (coffee shop or restaurant), a must have Haverford sweatshirt or a gift certificate to a place to buy college dorm stuff that is nearby. All suggestions welcome! Thanks.</p>
<p>If this is for your child, you may want to wait to get to campus to check out the area that’s in walking distance. Many different good restaurants, a few places to get one’s hair cut (unless you want them experimenting with their friend’s scissors/clippers prior to fall break), some grocery stores as well. Also, perhaps if they are interested in sports or the performing arts, a ticket to an event in Philly.</p>
<p>For Haver-wear, I always liked the t-shirt that says “Haverford black squirrels: Go for the nuts” and “Haverford College Arboretum #45 Elm Tree” (a play off the traditional athletic jersey). Your child may have better taste than me…</p>
