Grad school admission for a international student

Hi everyone,

I’m currently a student at the EPFL (or Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne if you prefer) and i’m graduating next year with a Bachelor of communication science engineering. My problem is that i’m looking into a MEM (master of engineering management) from a good grad school, but I don’t know if I can be accepted with my grades (average 4.3/6). I’m talking about schools like Northwestern (with has a great MEM+MBA program) Dartmouth, Duke or Stanford (the last is probably just a dream). A friend told me to try all of them, is it possible? Because they all ask for original letters of recommendation…

Thank you

P.S : sorry for the mistake “… for AN international student”

Your situation is fairly unique, and I don’t think many people will be able to give you solid advice based on your school and scores (most people here are from the US).

Have you tried talking to professors at your school? There have probably been a few students before you that went in a similar route, so they could probably guide you better than us.

My school has conversion scales for this. 4.3/6 is between 55-63(4.0-4.5) for the UK. So about a 59. In the US that’s approx. a 3.3 GPA.

Do you have any sort of work experience or research experience?
