How do grad schools look at UCLA when it comes to applying to grad school?
Thanks

just like any other big public school one would guess…

well im completely oblivious to it. So anything will help.

If you have good grades, good research experiences, and good recommendations I’d say that’s a good start.

Just like for every other undergrad school out there.

The name UCLA will neither help nor hurt your application, if that’s what you’re wondering.

UCLA is usually in the top 15 in rankings. So of course it’s going to look good.

top 15 in what? certainly not for undergrad.

A quick search…

School, Ranking

English, 10

History, 9
Engineering, 13
Computer Science, 13
Fine Art, 7

Law, 16
Economics, 11
Political Science, 10

Ghettonomics, you’ve listed the rankings of ULCA’s grad programs. The OP is interested in UCLA for undergrad.

I met people from UCLA on my grad school interviews (biology). They were bright and had obviously managed to get the research experience they needed as undergrads. However, considering the volume of students UCLA graduates every year, and that there were only a couple interviewing… Those students from UCLA were probably just very hard-working, I don’t think that the name UCLA helped or hurt them, as nauru said.

You people are insane.

Your mom…

…is pretty nice.

Thanks.

lol .
