Grad School at Yale

Hello all. I am currently a cadet at the United States Military Academy and I was wondering if any of you knew what grades Yale will look at after graduating from West Point, since I’ll have academic, military, and physical grades? I have a feeling it would be only academic grades, as well as how well I serve as an Officer, but I am just curious because I figured I would go ahead and think about my plans 5+ years down the road.

Umm…It looks like you just started West Point.

I noticed that nobody has answered this, so …

I’ve no personal knowledge, but I think it depends on WHAT KIND of graduate school you want to attend. If you want to get a Ph.D. in German, it’s your German grades that will count.

If you want to get a MBA, I suspect that your academic grades and your military grades will matter.

Do the best you can and worry about the rest later.

5+ years, isn’t that an understatement? Unless the military academies have changed don’t you have a minimum 5 year commitment AFTER you graduate? If you just started you are talking about 8-9 years from now.

Once you are commissioned, your choices for grad school will be limited by your chosen MOS and aptitudes you show. You can’t, in mid-stream to a 2 year assignment to the Middle East say to your CO that you’d like to apply to Yale for grad school.

Although seeing that it’s Aug – I’m sure you’re rather busy as a first year cadet
