Grad School in UK, bc MA of Events Management

<p>I would like to receive a masters in Event Management. Everything that I can find on the degree points to getting it in the UK or Australia. I have read a previous thread that it says to get a masters in the States if one is able because we have better universities. </p>

<p>I spent my college career working for the College Department of Campus and Community Events, and would like to continue that in my personal career. Thus my reason for wanting a masters in Event Management. </p>

<p>My problem: Why is this degree not as readily offered in the States? Is the degree ligament? Would it be a good idea to go to the UK to study?</p>

<p>I think that maybe the reason these two countries have these degrees of either having the Olympics or is about to have them.(just guessing)</p>

<p>Event management is generally on-the-job training for most in the US. I know this because my sister became an event manager right out of college (well, she started as an assistant event manager) with a B.A. in education. She found that most event managers can only get so far and that job changes often meant lateral moves, so she applied to and got an account manager position that oversaw events, travel, and event managers. She did not need a graduate degree.</p>

<p>You might want to look into hotel/restaurant management and business degrees if you feel that you want more out of your career. But really, you don’t need an advanced degree.</p>
