Grade distribution

Where can the grade distribution be found for the past classes - thanks

You need to clarify - when you say past classes, are you a current student? Are referring to the grade distribution for a specific class (ENGL101, for example) you signed up for or a class you just took?

Or are you a prospective student and looking for grade distribution of past classes as in gpa of admitted students for class of 2017 kind of thing?

Found the site. Ourumd.com. Not to sure how to use it as incoming Spring freshmen. Registered for classes & wanted to look @ profs past history with regard to grades.

Yes, ourumd.com is the go-to site with open access for anyone. Just type in the prof’s last name under search and it will show you options. Select the teacher - let’s take the infamous “Justin” in the math department that everyone loves…look up under last name, Wyss-Gallifent, and it will take you here [Wyss-Gallifent, J | OurUMD](http://www.ourumd.com/prof/Wyss-Gallifent,%20J). You can then click on the link for reviews under the average gpa or just look at the grade distributions by each course he teaches. Bear in mind that if you read the reviews, you need to pay attention to which course is being reviewed and also understand that typically the people motivated by extremes (satisfaction or dissatisfaction) are most likely to write a review. So, take it all with a grain of salt knowing there may be an axe to grind, or a lazy student, that may write a bad review of an otherwise good prof.

However, as a student, you also have access to course evaluations through your testudo account…not sure which format you prefer, but it’s all good to get a sense of what to expect.

Ourumd should be the first place you look, but once you have a testudo account I would also take a look at the umd course eval pages to get even more details about a professor and class. As well it’s worthwhile to cross reference with rate my professor to see if that particular professor has taught at other schools as they may be new to umd. Then follow up with my edu for more possible distribution information, especially if you need info from other schools. The prep work may help you mentally prepare for a demanding teacher and help you decide between a good one and a mediocre/bad one. Good luck!

So there is no place where you can see what a particular professor gave students in a particular class last semester?

That’s what the umd course eval site is for
https://www.courseevalum.umd.edu

But you need a school id/login first.
