Hi, if people could grade and give recommandations for improvement for my essay, it will be much appreciated!! Thanks in advance!

Prompt: Do people accomplish more when they are allowed to do things their own way?

Poeple are always accomplishing goals, at varying paces. Whether one is at a job or at school, there is always a supervisor around, encouraging people and setting rules. While a supervisor is often necessary to keep people “on track,” people often accomplish more when they are allowed to do things their own way. This can be seen through the actions of Ajab Kaheen, a hotel owner during the Rwanda massacre, and Malcolm McLean, the inventor of the shipping container.

Ajab Kaheen is an affluent hotel owner in Rwanda during the late 1900s. During this time period, Rwanda was experiencing a brutal Civil War. Rwanda was split into two warring factions: the Tuttis and the Kumbis. The Tuttis were being murdered and killed. Even though Ajab Kaheen was a Kumbi, he wanted to help the Tutti citizen and end the violence. Ajab Kaheen wanted to use his hotel to house and hide Tuttis, but his supervisors wouldn’t let him. Thus, Ajab decided to give free food to all who needed it. Hwoever, a few weeks later, his supervisors fled Rwanda because of the extreme violence. With no supervisor in charge, Ajab Kaheen was able to do things his own way and hide Tutti citizens in his hotel, saving hundreds of innocent lives. While Ajab was able to help numerous people by giving out free food, he was able to accomplish even more when he was allowed to do things his own way. By sheltering and hiding Tutti citizens in his hotel, Ajab was ultimately able to save hundreds of lives.

In addition, the actions of Malcolm McLean also show that people can accomplish more when they are allowed to do things their own way. Malcolm McLean worked in the shipping industry. He noticed that when companies shipped products to distant places, they had to load and unload everything one-by-one into the ship or truck. This wasted a lot of time and money. Malcolm’s supervisors allowed him to ship things his own way, as long as the items arrived on time. This gave Malcolm the freedom to invent and use the shipping container. With the shipping container, one can unload everything at the same time, saving hours of pointless labor. The shipping container ultimately tremendously lowered the price of shipping. Because Malcolm McLean was able to do things his own way, he invented the shipping contianer, increasing shipping productivity and lowering the price of shipped goods.

As shown by the actions of Ajab Kaheen and Malcolm McLean, people can indeed accomplish more when they are allowed to do things their own way. Allowing people to do things their own way speeds up productivity and discovery-ultimately leading to innovations and a better world.
