Is it grade grubbing if I mention to my professor that I believe she incorrectly graded a question on my midterm and ask for the points? My answer matches the answer key. The question is only worth a few points but I’m struggling in the class and could use every point I could get. Is this something worth visiting during office hours? Thank you!
Not grade grubbing. Go to office hours and talk about it.
@NorthernMom61 Thank you so much!
If your answer matches the answer on the answer key and your professor marked it wrong, that’s not grade grubbing. That’s making them aware of a grading error.
You are welcome.
Agreed. I would want a student to correct my grading if I made a mistake (and I have, and I have been corrected). It demonstrates that the student cares. It is also less hassle to fix it now than after final grades are assigned.
