Grade inflation? What colleges?

What are some top schools with grade inflation? I know Harvard + Yale + brown has a ton, I am trying to find others that are similar!

You can find articles on line like this

Hello! Grade inflation refers to the phenomenon where the average GPA of students at a college or university tends to be higher due to lenient grading policies or other factors. Some colleges that are known for grade inflation include:

  1. Brown University

  2. Yale University

  3. Stanford University

  4. Harvard University

  5. Dartmouth College

Another recent post mentioned Duke.

Personally I think this is a terrible reason to pick a college.

Here’s a four year old article - shows only top schools - which by the way also have mostly top students to begin with.

Sorry, could you link the article?

Chard-- I am starting to worry about you.

Grade inflation is something that HS kids who think they want to go to law school worry about. But it should not impact your decision-making. Certainly not now.

So much of this is major dependent. I promise you that if you are a Chemistry major, you’ve earned every single A or B (and possibly the C’s) that you get. No matter which college you land at. Similarly, every college has it’s “easy majors”- check the profiles of the hockey and football players for example- it is very hard to play a competitive helmet sport if you are also majoring in a “tough to pass” subject (but there are exceptions of course).

You should not be even thinking about this right now! You’re worrying about grad school admissions as a HS kid??? Relax!

There’s many. Just google. But more importantly listen to @blossom.

There’s likely not a college out there that doesn’t have kids at top shelf grad schools.

If anyone can google a list of colleges with grade inflation, don’t you expect that grad school admission officers and potential employers might have a hunch as well?

You will be best served by choosing a college based on affordability and fit (both academic and social).

Keep in mind that gaining admission to Harvard, Yale,Brown, etc. is no small feat.
