Grade my first SAT essay ever.Do it.Now.

Its my first SAT essay.I read a bit about how its expected to write it.I know the essay is horrible but in my defence english is my second language and i had a bad time managment(30 sec conclusion  )

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell has stated:‘‘Loyalty means giving me your honest
opinion, whether you think i’ll like it or not.’’

Do you agree or disagree that people really want others to give them their honest opinions?‘’

Essay:

When it comes to those small, everyday questions i believe that one doesn’t care about whether the opinion he was given is true or not,but is it positive, similar to his and finnaly are those the words he wanted to hear. There are many everyday examples that show that asking for an opinion is actually asking for aproval.

How many times did my or anyones sister asked does she look fat in her new jeans or is her make-up ok?Probably a lot!On those kind of questions it is clear that one wants encouragement ,an opinion that will improve his self-confidence.The night before the SAT,the exam that will determine my future when i asked my father:,Will i do okay tommorow dad?‘’ do you think he replied:,Yes of course son, you’re gonna do great!‘’ because he analyzed my practice tests or because he wants his son to feel better and more confident about it?The answer is of course the second one.

One can ask for an opinion on an issue just to see if the asked person will try to mislead or harm him with intended wrong opinion. The example is the reality show:,Surviver’'.When Jane asked Pit whether or not to trust John about the upcoming voting she already knew the answer but she wanted to test Pit’s loyalty and see if he possibly made aliance with John. She didn’t expected honesty, she wanted to determine will his opinion be honest or not.And there is a big difference.

All the examples above clearly suggest that one, indeed, doesn’t always wants the honest opinion.

First,thanks for reply.

You said that i should address what people want on large issues as well.
But then i would be contradictory because people want truth on large issues but don’t care is it true opinion on small issues.
I read that i should choose a side and stick with it no matter what.

Also i read about people who prepare examples in advance.I have no idea how to do that .If for example you tell me to choose as an example Steve Jobs, should i learn his biography and remember all the details from his life?
Because it thats the way how am i suppose to learn 25 examples…

I’d give it a 5. Good luck!
