Grade My Prompt Please! Essay

The prompt is basically whether or not students should be required to maintain a c average before receiving a driver’s license. Some think that it would show responsibility. Other think that there is no relationship between grades and school and driving skills.
Keep in mind that this was a practice run and I took around 33 minutes on this essay.

How would you be able to go to work without a car? Many legislators debate whether teenagers should be required to maintain a "C"average in school to receive their driver’s license. Though proponents say that it’d be beneficial to include this into our society, I think otherwise because academics and riving has no correlation, it is discriminatory, and it would complicate license validity.
Those for the argument argue that the law would create more responsible students and drivers. In reality, the law would encourage them to cheat in order to receive their freedom to drive.
In addition, making good grades does not lead to being a better driver and vice-versa. There are many successful people who have dropped out of school and are still successful; should Bill Gates and Steve Jobs be unable to drive? No
This legislation would also be discriminatory to many people, including foreigners and low-income students. Many foreigners have trouble making good grades in school due to their unfamiliar environment; should they be punished for coming to America and looking for better opportunities? Low-income students are oftentimes more concerned of putting food on the table than doing well in school. Should America deprive them of their food?
Not only would this law be discriminatory toward the less fortunate, but it would also complicate driver’s licenses and their validity. For instance, if a “c” student did poorly on their test and his average dropped to a "D’, should his license be revoked or invalidated? How would he be able to get to school now? Perhaps he should take the time out of his parent’s day or cause more traffic to the already crowded bus.
Introducing this policy would be unbeneficial to our society. Do we really want to make lives harder for those who are already disadvantaged? Is that what America, the supposed land of the free, represents.
