Prompt:Do you believe that there is such a thing as destiny? Do you think it is something people can control? Plan and write an essay.
A wise man once said you reap what you sow. It’s so true. I would really disagree with the statement that it is destiny that controls a person’s life. Its rather his/her will , passion and hard work that leads to success.
Although god or the creator of the universe always has a upper hand in everyone’s lives but haven’t we heard the saying-"God helps them who help themselves. " For example I remember a time when one of my friends was stuck in a difficult situation and he had only two options :either not working hard enough and blaming his destiny for the rest of his life or working hard and being satisfied with whatever the outcome is. He decided to follow the latter and now he is really successful.
Also a recent study showed that the human mind likes shifting blame for things that it cannot control. This is what happens when a person blames his/her fate like for an exam that he/she could not succeed in or for a role that they could not bag. It is destiny that has to play the bad cop.
Thirdly in my opinion thinking that one can not control one’s life’s decision gives him/her a feeling of helplessness. When something bad happens we accept it as our fate. But when Beethoven went deaf if he had simply accepted it as his destiny could the world ever get Beethoven’s symphony , perhaps not.
So I would like to conclude that it is not fate that decides our life’s course but our hard-work and patience. We may try to blame it on god or on destiny but the only reasons we could not succeed because did not work too hard for it.
