Grade Percentages

Can someone tell me the grade percentages for UMCP.

Like what percent margin is A+, A, A-, B+, B, B+.

For some reason I can’t find it. I can only find the gpa worth of each letter grade.

Thank you

You are right…doesn’t seem to be clearly lined out. The most specific “official” thing I saw was that the minimum grade received for a letter grade should be a “-” grade (if you score the lowest possible B, it should be a B-). I think that the guidelines are intentionally vague to allow professors flexibility, and I believe most professors will state their standards on their course syllabus. For example, here’s one I found:

90-92 A-, 93-97 A, 98+ A+
80-82 B-, 83-87 B, 88-89 B+
70-72 C-, 73-77 C, 78-79 C+
60-62 D-, 63-67 D, 68-69 D+

Just like some professors grade “on a curve” and others do not, I believe they have the opportunity to more clearly define it and widen/narrow the criteria for their class. Individual departments may also have their standards, as well.

In one of D1’s upper level undergrad Physics courses, her final grade was a 62. It was, however, the highest grade in the class, and was an A on her transcript. Varies by class/professor/students, obviously.
