Should we accept unfairness and make best of it?

In the commercialized society, unfairness actually occurs everywhere in our life-in the market,in the business,in the school and even in the court. An old saying states that we should inured to and tolerate the unfairness in our life, because only by doing so, Individuals can avoid the direct conflicts in the society and live safely. However, can tolerating and compromising really give us a securer life in this unfair world? Is accepting unfairness the best way to solve the unjustness? The answer is no. In my opinion, Individuals should always stand up against unfairness; unjustness can never be eliminated if we just tolerate them. The case of Rosa Parks, the first lady of civil rights, and Mike, the protagonist of “Monsters University” can best illustrate my point of view.

In 1955, Montgomery had an unfair segregation law which segregated bus passengers by race and asked black passengers to move when there were no white-only seats left. At that time, many of the black people were ousted by the bus driver and forced to walk a long way back to home when the bus was full. Rosa Parks, who later deemed as “the mother of the freedom movement”, refused to give up her seat to white when the bus driver, Blake, asked her to do so. Although she was quickly get arrested and convicted of violating the law after her actions, she was the first person who say no to the segregation law, bringing huge impacts to the whole society: her actions incited the Montgomery Bus Boycott and sparked many people, including Matin Luther King, to stand up against unfair treatments. Thanks to Rosa Parks’ refusal, many tolerating black people started to fight for their own rights and finally forced the government to annul the unjust law.

Mike, the protagonist of “Monsters University”, also used actions to ease the unfair treatments he had in school. Mike and his friends in Oozga pazza fraternity were all small creatures with less intimidating faces; because of this, they were always laughed by other monsters and overlooked by the professors in school. They were judged unfairly and even ousted by scare college without a reason. However, Mike did’t feel angry and disappointing when facing those uneven treatments;Instead, he decided to attend the scarce game with his friends to show their ability and to ease those unfairness. Although they were not scary at all, they finally won the game, by using their intelligence and cooperations skills. They used their efforts to show the whole school that appearance can’t determine one’s success, and that people can’t be treated unfairly only because of their appearance.

Overall, If Rosa Parks had not bravely against the unfair law, Black people might not have the equal rights they enjoyed today; If Mike had tolerated or accepted the uneven treatments, he and his friends would not have respected by the whole school. we can’t not avoid unfair practices in our life, but we can fight with those unfairness and finally ease those unfairness around us. Tolerating would never became the best way to solve the unfair issue in the world.
