Graded Writing Sample Question

Hi,

I need to submit a graded writing sample for a few of the schools I am applying to, and I was wondering what AO’s expect of this sample. So far, this year I have received perfect scores on all writing projects assigned to me, and have received no comments from teachers other than “Good Work!” and such. I was wondering if AO’s prefer the graded writing sample to have constructive comments and/or feedback on what I did well, since I might have ask a teacher for extra comments (though when I tried, my teacher said he couldn’t give me any comments because my essay was already good). I was also wondering how much it matters for the sample to be from English class, because so far I’ve only had substantial writing in history.
Thanks

My daughter had the same situation. Didn’t seem to matter in the end. She was successful in getting into schools.

It doesn’t really matter. It’s used by the AO to get a sense of your academic writing, what kind of feedback your teachers give, grading standards, etc. It just helps put your application into context. Don’t sweat this!
