grades from previous colleges attended

Here’s my situation. I took Physics, Biology, Business, and Psychology from two different colleges while I was in high school. I got a B, B, C, and B in those classes, respectively. Now I’m out of high school and at a different college. I’ve retaken Business and Psychology and gotten an A in both classes; I don’t know if this is allowed.

Will the grades from my previous college be calculated with my current grades, or will they just be looked at?

Also, I’ve been taking an Experimental Business course, which is not transferrable, for my internship. Does this get excluded from my 3.9 GPA when applying?

Thank you.

1. Will the grades from my previous college be calculated with my current grades, or will they just be looked at?

Some schools don’t care about previous GPA’s. Some carry them over. I’d say it normally depends on the quality of the second school. “Better” schools won’t accept grades from other institutions (even though they’ll usually accept the credit).

As far as I’m aware of, when you apply as a transfer your entire transfer GPA is considered, even if all of the courses are not transferable. Usually the latter (whether or not a course is transferable) is dealt with AFTER you get in, not before (They have to send catalog course descriptions and/or syllabi to heads of departments to get transfer credit evaluated for equivalency - there’s no way they’re going to do that for every transfer applicant. The exception to that is some CC and state universities have agreements over what courses automatically transfer over).
