Grades in Fall Semester of Senior Year

My grade record:
freshman year- all straight As and almost all 95+

sophomore year- better fall semester grades than spring semester although school switched to a end of the year grade instead of separate semester grades and so a few As with mostly mid to high Bs and one low B (like 82)

For my junior year I am doing a year abroad in French-speaking Belgium. If I were staying I would be attempting to make the highest grades possible, but I am not, and as this is a negative seeing as junior year is the most important year academically concerning college applications, it’s also a positive because it’s somewhat of a hook to have spent a year abroad and be fluent in French. I don’t know if I will have any official grades from this year but I should receive credit.

My question is, when applying to college in the fall semester of my senior year, (that’s when most deadlines are, right?) what will my GPA be based on? The last year I was in school? Which will be sophomore year? Otherwise how can I have a GPA in the middle of a semester when our GPAs are only calculated at the end of each semester?
