Hi, I’m a student applying to PA, PEA, Concord and L’ville. Concord and L’ville are my first choices.
I’ve made all As since 6th, with most being above 97. However, my mid-semester grades just came out, and I’m making a C in band. I plan on fixing this, but will this show up on my transcript(it’s mid-semester)? All of my other grades are As.
Will this grade hurt my application?

Yes - it will show up. No, it won’t hurt you if the rest of your application is strong.

Be warned, however, straight A’s are rejected all the time. It’s your entire application (who you are as a person, what you’ve done inside and outside of school, etc.) that it what will be evaluated. There are thousands of straight A students in the admissions pile. Your application may have to stand out in some other way as well.

how important are grades? I am mostly an A/A- student (no A+s at my school) Will the A-s affect me too much? Assume that I have good recs, had a good interview etc. and would otherwise be a good candidate.

Grades and scores on the SSAT are not too important. Like I mean AO would definitely put essays and interviews and recs over scores. Besides I would NOT sweat an A- at all. Good luck!
