<p>Hi,</p>

<p>I’m from a prestigious prep school in Connecticut. 1/3 go to Ivies. I received a low B during my freshman year (1st semester) in the subject I want to major in just because I was placed into an advanced class. I switched down a level, and did well. Excluding this grade, I have a cumulative 4.0 UW. Do you think this will make a great impact? What should I do? Do you think my GPA would be considered w/o the low grade if I explained why I got it? Please help, and will chance you back. By the way, I am aiming for HYP.</p>

<p>One B won’t kill you. Write a good essay, and I think you should be fine.</p>

<p>Wow. Get some self-confidence or plain ol’ common sense: one B is not the end all be all, whatever you have been told or whatever you believe.</p>
