Grades

So I have 2 Ds. I know I can get 4.0 in my classes now after going into the military and maturing. Finding ways that work for me as far as studying is concerned etc. Writing that in my PS basically, would I still be getting in? I’m volunteering at the hospital on the bar I’m at and a local hospital in the ER.

Thank you for serving our country.

The more time between the “bad grades” and your continued education, the better. Med schools are more likely to view your recent grades as more of a reflection of “the new you”…so to speak.

That said, those “bad grades” will still get factored into your cum and BCMP GPAs, so dilute them as much as possible. Retake, take more higher level classes, etc.

No one knows.

There are no guarantees when it comes to med school admissions for anyone–even 4.0 GPA/40 MCAT applicants with spectacular ECs get rejected every year.

If you’re interested in pursuing medicine as a career, you have to prepare for it as best you can, then apply and take your chances—just like everyone else.

I don’t think you’ll get any information in this thread that you didn’t get in your other two.

Sorry, I just have questions and dont have anyone to ask that knows anything about it. Either have kids in medical school/been through themselves or current students both medical and pre med.
