<p>How hard is the grading at Duke? I mean, what’s about the average grade for, say, an intro chem course and a more advanced chem course (or any other science)? It seems like it would be pretty hard to get great grades at Duke</p>
<p>grading? the average scores on tests are usually in the 70s, some classes have averages in the 60s… however the average letter grade is usually around B- for large intro classes, and B+ for upper level classes. it really depends on the department, the professor, ect… there are so many variables. it is very possible to get solid grades here, but I wouldn’t expect a 4.0… unless you are crazy smart.</p>
<p>My chem 23 (which is accel intro class) gives half A and B and half C and D. It is very competitive and a pain in the butt (esp when everyone knows the material, its just who knows what the heck he is trying to ask).</p>
